Fabric and Stitch. Experimenting with the quilt technique allows me to sculpt and draw with fabric and thread, whilst exploring the effects of light on the tactile surface. Having learnt to embroider before learning to write it seems almost inevitable that I have chosen embroidery as a means of artistic expression. I combine hand and machine stitching, layering line, colour and texture to create rich surfaces in which concepts of time/experience/emotion are embodied.
